SOME HOMEWORK PRACTICE FOR THE EBAU:
23rd April is a symbolic
date for world literature. It is on this date in 1616 that Cervantes,
Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega all died. It is also the date of
birth or death of other prominent authors. This is why UNESCO, in a conference
held in Paris in 1995, decided to celebrate the World Book Day every 23rd
of April. They wanted to encourage people, and specially children, to read
and discover the authors who contributed to social and cultural progress of
humanity.
·
Why did UNESCO start it in 1995?
·

·
How is it celebrated in Spain?
